Outdoor Summer Fun

Its time to bring the fun outside into the summer sun with Jazz in Park, Screen on the Green, and of course outdoor concerts. Last week, Michael and I went up to Maryland to enjoy a free outdoor summer concert at The Strathmore

We started this tradition last summer and really enjoyed the venue and the variety of musicians they lined up.

The atmosphere is relaxed and down-home. You can get dinner at the BBQ Shack tent and dessert from the Ben and Jerry's truck. Children are playing and musical enthusiasts are lined up on the grass in front of the gazebo on blankets and camping chairs. There's picnicking and wine pouring into plastic wine glasses. The sun is shining and music fills the summer air as the sun makes way to set.

Last week we heard a group called Barefoot Movement. They are a young, fun, and quirky bluegrass group out of Nashville Tennessee. They had a great mix of originals and covers. You can find some of their previous albums on Spotify and their new album should be hitting stores in the coming months.

You can click on the photos below to open a lightbox viewer to see some pics of the show and below that is a video of one of their most popular covers.

What outdoor summer adventures have you gotten yourself into? Please feel free to share in the comments below.
