Day 2: The Landscape

Today we drove up to the Santa Fe ski area and stood at over 10,000 feet overlooking Santa Fe and the surrounding cities. The landscape was simply breathtaking.

I took so many photos, but it was just so hard to capture the expanse of the blue sky over the trees and cliffs. I chose this one, in particular, because I thought it captured the landscape, but also the lifestyle. Just imagine waking up every morning and this being the view from your house. I love all the little adobe houses nestled in the rolling hills.

The weather was divine. I thought it would be dry, dusty, and scorching hot, but today it was sunny and cool like a northeast spring day. I wore a jacket until nearly 1pm.

On our drive back down from Santa Fe National Forest, we stopped at a Japanese spa that was literally built on the side of a mountain. It's called Ten Thousand Waves. The spa includes all of the basic spa services with the option to rent a private outdoor hot tub to soak in while you take in the glorious nature surrounding you.

We drove back down to our hotel and capped off the afternoon at The Burrito Co.
